About
Banu Mushtaq is a celebrated Kannada writer, activist, and lawyer from Karnataka, and a key voice in the Bandaya movement. Her acclaimed short-story collection Heart Lamp is regarded as a landmark in Kannada literature. It won the International Booker Prize 2025 and the English PEN Award. Her work powerfully explores caste, gender, and marginalization with striking literary clarity.
